New England Premiership Announce Addition of Top MA Clubs
FC Stars, Scorpions SC and NEFC to enter teams at all age groups in fall 2011

Waltham, 14^th January, 2011.  The New England Premiership (NEP) received a massive boost this week with the news that Massachusetts’s clubs FC Stars of Massachusetts, Scorpions SC and NEFC have signed a participation agreement to enter teams aged U10 – U14 (boys and girls) into the league at the start of the fall, 2011 season.

While the top teams from each club will enter at the commencement of the fall 2011 season, individual teams from FC Stars of Massachusetts and NEFC will participate as early as spring 2011.  The announcement of those teams making the transition will be communicated directly with players and parents via each individual club Director of Coaching.

“The New England Premiership has strived to become the leading club based league in the region and the addition of FC Stars, Scorpions SC and NEFC is a massive step forward from a competitive standpoint,” said New England Premiership President James Hamblin.   “The NEP on field product has received an injection of high quality with the addition of these three clubs who each have forged an outstanding reputation of developing high level players and nationally competitive teams.”

FC Stars of Massachusetts is a premier-level soccer club for boys and girls aged 6-19. A founding member of the Elite Clubs National League, FC Stars of Massachusetts has fashioned a soccer training development program that meets the technical, tactical, physical and psychological needs of girls and boys who have dedicated themselves to becoming premier soccer players. The Stars’ coaching staff, curriculum, philosophy, and the overall competitive experience provide a compelling soccer environment for premier-caliber players.

Scorpions SC, currently ranked as the #19 Girls Club in the United States by prestigious publication Soccer America, is an elite soccer club out of Massachusetts that currently plays home to 40+ boys and girls teams. Since 2001, the Elite Clubs National League organization has developed three National Team and 20+ Regional team players, and has won four Regional Championships and 12 State Championships.

NEFC is proud to be one of the largest and strongest clubs in New England, boasting a professional coaching staff and state of the art indoor & outdoor facilities. With over 60 teams in multiple regions, NEFC had three state championships, three finalists, 11 semifinalists as well as two Northeast Region I champions, one Region I semi-finalist and two NERL finalists last year.  NEFC is a non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors with extensive soccer experience as it relates to playing, developing, coaching and administrating premier soccer.

The Seacoast United Soccer Club is based in Hampton, New Hampshire, about 50 miles north of Boston, MA, USA.  Seacoast United is a Non-Profit Organization formed in 1992 devoted to promoting the game of soccer and serving over 5000 players in the Southern NH, Northern MA and Southern ME area.  In the 2009 season, the Seacoast United Soccer Club consists of 50 teams (roughly 800 players), ages U-10 through U-20.  We are affiliated with the US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), US Club Soccer and the USL.

Seacoast Maine

Seacoast started in 1992, it has grown to a club of over 800 players, an indoor facility in Hampton, NH and an outdoor complex in Epping, NH. Seacoast has over 12 full-time professional management and staff and partnerships with major companies. They have grown their club with a proven plan and now they want to help our club grow and provide better training opportunities to develop all levels of Maine players.

Coastal is the largest soccer club in Maine with almost 400 players, a volunteer board of directors, and three part-time staff. A merger will result in a club of 1,200 players and will provide Coastal players with opportunities for competition through tournaments. As importantly, a merger will provide Coastal with the depth and consistency of Seacoast’s management and administrative capabilities. Seacoast United founder Paul Willis will serve as Executive Director for Seacoast ME operations.
